Bremerton Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Deep crimson colour. A powerful yet elegant wine, built with a strong backbone of blackberry, bramble and earthy notes. A complexity of fruit ripeness, complimented by brooding earth and chocolate. A good amount of cassis, alcohol warmth, dried herbs, lavendar and cassis. Nuances of coffee, dark chocolate and spice meld seamlessly on the palate and nose. Fine elegant tannins encapsulate the flavours, adding layers of length and persistence. The refined tannin structure provides an elegant composed wine that drinks beautifully on release. "Nose is an amalgam of fruit cake, choc mints and spices. The palate is long, complex and flavoursome, with a touch of age. Very good!" -Winestate.com
The very limited release Reserve is a wine of stature and opulence, an outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon grown to the rich, predisposed soils of Langhorne Creek. Bremerton Reserve is blended from a fastidious selection of the best barrels of Cabernet, all originating from the estate's superlative vineyards which are nourished by the flooding of the Bremer River. Bremerton are in a unique position to keep all parcels of Cabernet separate, for the purpose of isolating the most exceptional lots, from the time of picking through to vinification and maturation
The winemaking team headed by Rebecca Willson has taken the quality of Bremerton wines to stellar heights. Willson crafts traditional, full bodied, full flavoured, mouth filling Langhorne Creek wines that show a consistency of style whilst encouraging the true varietal Cabernet characteristics to be expressed. The fruit is fermented in open vats and then matured for twenty eight months in new French oak. Following some barrel maturation, each parcel is assessed, and the most outstanding parcels of Cabernet are treated to further ageing before being assembled into the final wine. Further bottle maturation of up to two years before release fully integrates the tannins, achieving remarkable flavour development
