A Mano Primitivo IGT 2007 RRP - $24.99 Bottle - $22.95 Case of 12 - $275.40           A-Mano Primitivo is a deep blackish-red color with an opaque appearance at the core, going out into a deep purple to blood-red rim definition with high viscosity. There is immediate, bold, crushed ripe black and red berry fruit, permeated by creme de cassis, star anise, licorice, boysenberry sorbet and oak references. With a little swirling in the glass, it emits more and spicier black fruit with hints of violets and earthy minerality. A-Mano Primitivo is a huge mouthful of crushed mixed berries, and chewy, ripe, juicy black fruit. There are hints of tobacco, chocolate, aniseed and wild cherries through the midpalate. It comes together nicely on the after-mouth, where the powerful, yet supple tannins kick in and deliver a pleasant, lengthy finish with hints of licorice and dried figs. Case Only (12 Units)

Bollini Merlot DOC 2007 RRP - $24.99 Bottle - $19.95 Case of 12 - $239.40           The vineyard’s ideal exposure and soil components yield a varietal capturing fleshy, fragrant flavours of cherry and wild berries, integrated with subtle spice and a mellow medium body. Seventy per cent of the wine is aged in French and American oak barrels ranging from 225 to 2000 litres, for 8-12 months. It is a great accompaniment to tomato-based dishes, pizza and white meat. Boroli Barbera D'alba Superiore Fagiani 2004 RRP - $69.99 Bottle - $55.33 Case of 12 - $663.98           The colour is dark and intense, almost impenetrable, ruby red. On the nose it offers floral hints of red roses, cherries and blackberry jam followed by vanilla notes and spices. The power of this Barbera emerges on the palate: warm and round with a well balance of acidity and tannins and a very persistent finish. Boscarelli Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2006 RRP - $69.99 Bottle - $65.95 Case of 6 - $395.70           Deep black almandine ruby with black reflections. Muted bouquet, though swishing brings up delicate cherry and berry fruit supported by some red currant acidity and alcoholic warmth. Quite a bit going on, and promising. On the palate it's medium bodied and graceful, with rich cherry fruit that has some black currant overtones, with slightly brambly acidity that provides direction, and smooth sweet tannins that have a slightly greenish youthful Sangiovese burr, and flow into a clean cedar-laced slightly savory finish. Castello di Farnetella Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG 2007 RRP - $32.95 Bottle - $29.95 Case of 12 - $359.40           The 2007 Chianti Colli Senesi is a pretty, floral wine with nice freshness to its fruit and an attractive, soft-textured personality. Caterina Zardini Valpolicella Classico 2006 RRP - $41.95 Bottle - $37.95 Case of 12 - $455.40           Valpolicella is typically made from three grape varietals: Corvina Veronese, Rondinella, and Molinara. Cignale IGT 2004 RRP - $129.99 Bottle - $115.95 Case of 3 - $347.85           Incredible power, very limited. The 2003 Cignale, a deep, almost-saturated ruby, explodes from the glass in an intense, powerful expression of dark, super-ripe fruit, earthiness, cassis, herbs, chocolate and toasted oak. It shows superb balance for the vintage, the warmth of which is felt on the sweet, alcoholic note that frames the finish. Although it possesses much opulence and concentration there is plenty of stuffing underneath to make me think it will drink to age 20, perhaps beyond. In the meantime, readers may want to give this brooding, structured wine another year or two in the cellar. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2023...93 Case Only (3 Units)
